Description
A mother bird must keep her hungry chicks alive by searching the surrounding countryside for butterflies and returning them safely to the nest. Predators and other hazards constantly threaten the journey, while each growing family needs enough food before the young birds can finally leave the nest.
Bird Week for the Japanese Famicom is a charming action game developed by Lenar and published by Toshiba EMI. Each stage revolves around catching butterflies, feeding chicks and avoiding enemies while the scenery cycles through different seasons. Simple controls hide an increasingly demanding challenge as faster hazards and strict feeding requirements test concentration.
- Catch butterflies in mid-air and deliver them to hungry chicks waiting in their nests. Feeding enough young birds successfully completes the main objective of each stage.
- Avoid predators and environmental hazards while travelling between feeding grounds and the nest. Contact with danger can quickly cost valuable lives and progress.
- Stages cycle through seasonal scenery as the game continues through hundreds of increasingly difficult rounds. The unusual nature theme gives Bird Week a personality unlike almost any other Famicom action title.
