Description
The advanced fighter Wol-Arg takes to the skies against an enormous enemy force and the threatening Mega Argus fortress. Waves of aircraft and heavily defended ground installations stand along the route, turning every stage into a constant battle for control of the air and surface below.
Argus for the Japanese Famicom is a vertically scrolling shooter published by Jaleco and adapted from the arcade game. Separate attacks target airborne and ground enemies, while collectible power-ups strengthen the fighter for increasingly dangerous stages. Each mission ends with a distinctive landing sequence, adding another challenge to its old-school shooting action.
- Use separate weapons against enemies in the air and targets positioned on the ground. Switching attention between both layers keeps every stage busy and demands quick reactions.
- Collect power-ups that improve Wol-Arg’s offensive capabilities during the journey. Stronger equipment becomes increasingly important as enemy formations grow more aggressive.
- Battle through scrolling stages before attempting a landing sequence at the end of each mission. This unusual finale gives Argus a recognizable identity among early Famicom shooters.
