Description
On the hero’s sixteenth birthday, the king of Aliahan entrusts them with the mission once attempted by their missing father, Ortega: defeat the Archfiend Baramos and end the growing threat to the world. The young hero gathers companions and begins a journey across kingdoms, caves and distant continents filled with monsters and ancient mysteries.
Dragon Quest III for the Famicom greatly expanded Enix’s landmark RPG series with a customizable party system and a much larger world. Players recruit adventurers from different character classes, develop equipment and magic, and battle monsters through classic turn-based commands. Its sense of discovery, memorable Akira Toriyama designs and influential progression systems made Dragon Quest III one of the defining Japanese role-playing games of the 8-bit era.
- Create a party by recruiting characters from several different vocations, including warriors, mages and priests. Party composition has a major effect on combat strategy and character development.
- Explore a large world filled with towns, castles, caves and hidden secrets while pursuing Baramos. Day and night changes can alter characters and events found in certain locations.
- Fight classic Dragon Quest monsters using turn-based commands, weapons, magic and useful items. Strong progression and extensive exploration make the adventure remarkably ambitious for the Famicom.
