Alien Galaga forces descend in elaborate formations before diving toward the player’s starfighter with increasingly aggressive attacks. Survival depends on accurate shooting, quick movement and the courage to risk capture for a chance at recovering a second fighter.
Galaga for the Famicom recreates Namco’s celebrated arcade shooter with repeating waves, bonus Challenge Stages and the famous dual-fighter mechanic. Boss Galaga enemies can capture the player’s ship with a tractor beam, but destroying the captor under the right conditions restores it alongside the active fighter for doubled firepower.
- Destroy alien formations before they break away into dangerous diving attacks. Enemy movement grows faster and less predictable as stages advance.
- Allow a Boss Galaga to capture a fighter and rescue it later to create a dual ship. The reward is stronger firepower but also a larger target.
- Challenge Stages offer bonus points for destroying carefully choreographed enemy patterns. High-score chasing and simple controls make Galaga endlessly replayable.
